Over a decade ago with hopes to learn and then share with friends and family, we divested everything into a small property on the windward side of Hawai'i island. What was meant to be a slow 10+ plan of investing into the Aina became a headfirst dive that had us living here fulltime in less than 3 years. "Presence is everything," the land said to us, so in 2015 our dream became a reality as our first two plants, a starfruit and an ulu (breadfruit) where put in the ground. Now going on 9 years later, we've removed countless invasive species replacing them with over 300 different flora in the plan to develop a food forest, all while respecting the natural topography of land and the native Ohia forests that have been developing for some 100's of years prior to our arrival. While we hope this forest will be shared for years to come, in this moment we're happy to share it with all of You, the curious travelers interested in the "Landecation" nature wishes to share by simply being present.
